The Principal Consultant of Diamatrix Planning has approximately 20 years’ experience in various types of developments, from complex urban land use developments to rural, agricultural, and coastal land use issues. He is a corporate member of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) and a Registered Planner by the same Institute, as such the firm operates in accordance with the PIA code of practice.

Diamatrix Planning consists of professional planners that have detailed knowledge of the Victorian Planning System and that are ready to use their knowledge and experience to the benefit of their clients to get the appropriate planning outcome. The firm is under the direction of Mr Gbenga Tokun who as the Principal Consultant is responsible for the day to day running of the firm.

Principal Consultant
Gbenga is a Corporate Member of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) and a Registered Planner as certified by the same Institute.
Gbenga has over 20 years’ experience in statutory planning in Victoria, including more than ten years working as a Senior Planner and consultant in different Councils across Victoria.
Gbenga has relevant experience in applying land use concepts and in dealing with statutory processes and planning principles, including social, economic and environmental matters and in that connection, he has dealt with the assessment of numerous complex planning applications including large multi-unit developments, multi-lot subdivisions and commercial developments.
Gbenga has detailed knowledge of the different legislation affecting planning and development in Victoria and an extensive experience in planning advocacy at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) which include the preparation and presentation of submissions at merit hearings, representation at mediation sessions and directions hearings.
Gbenga regularly appears as a planning advocate at VCAT representing Councils and private clients. Gbenga has strong advocacy skills and ability to deliver outcomes sought by clients. Gbenga has an excellent track record at VCAT, having presented before the tribunal in over 140 appeals, with a success rate of over 75 percent.
His experience in local government, including consultation for many local councils gives him an in-depth understanding of the planning approval process, which is used for the benefit of clients. However, the firm does not undertake consultancy work for private clients in Councils where the firm is on the consultancy panel to avoid conflict of interest.
