Diamatrix Planning consists of professional planners that have detailed knowledge of the Victorian Planning System and that are ready to use their knowledge and experience to the benefit of their clients in order to get the appropriate planning outcome. The firm is under the direction of Mr Gbenga Tokun who as the Principal Consultant is responsible for the day to day running of the firm.
Gbenga is a recognised Certified Practising Planner. He obtained B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Urban and Regional Planning in 1985 and 1989 respectively and he is a Corporate Member of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) and a Certified Practising Planner by the same Institute.
Gbenga has extensive experience in many aspects of town planning and development; particularly in statutory planning, planning advocacy, mediation, appeal preparation and presentation at different forums. The experience has been obtained in the course of more than ten years of working as Senior Planner and consultant in different Councils in Victoria and about eleven years of planning consultancy where he was involved in the preparation of different types of plans, including Master and Structure Plans, planning researches and several World Bank sponsored projects.
Gbenga has relevant experience in applying land use concepts and in dealing with statutory processes and planning principles, including social, economic and environmental matters and in that connection, he has dealt with the assessment of numerous complex planning applications including large multi-unit developments, multi-lot subdivisions and commercial developments.
Gbenga has detailed knowledge of the different legislation affecting planning and development in Victoria and a fairly extensive experience in planning advocacy at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) which include the preparation and presentation of submissions at merit hearings, representation at mediation sessions and directions hearings.
